Royce Giles Johnson

Royce Giles Johnson died July 8, 2014 at his home in Savannah under the care of United Hospice.
He was born in Riley, Kansas and lived for many years in Atlanta, GA, moving to Savannah in 2003.
He was a member of the 8th Army band, with service in Seoul, South Korea. He was a graduate of Trinidad High School in Trinidad, Colorado and Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. An accomplished musician and singer, Royce was a lifetime member of the American Federation of Musicians, Atlanta Local 148-462. He performed in Savannah for five years with the Crystal Beer Parlor Ramblers. He was a member of the Wilmington Island United Methodist Church, where he was very active in the music program.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Johnson, of Savannah, his son, Lawrence Cannon, of Gainesville, GA, his daughter, Elizabeth (Beth) Johnson, of Atlanta, and his sister, Mrs. Karen Brickham, of Severance, Colorado.
Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Fox& Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.
